Recreational Program

The CFBA Recreational Program offers beginning level classes to students age 3 and up. These classes are designed to teach musicality, body placement, body awareness and develop creative expression through movement. These classes teach a love of learning and celebrate the joys of dance which will last a lifetime. Recreational classes include Creative Movement 1 and 2, Primary Ballet 1 and 2, Introductory Ballet, Intermediate Ballet, and Boys Class.

Formal Program

Designed for those students who wish to pursue dance seriously, there is a minimum class requirement for each level. Students who cannot fulfill the minimum requirement, will be placed in a  level where they are able to fulfill the time commitment and maintain mastery of the ballet skills. Advancement is based solely on ability, not age. Each level builds upon the technique of the previous level.  The beginning levels are the most important levels in ballet as they form the foundation for all ballet technique.

Trainee Program

CFBA offers the Trainee Level Program to exceptional pre-professional students in pursuit of professional ballet careers.  These students take several classes daily as well as private coaching and rehearsals.  Admission to the Trainee Program is by audition or teacher recommendation only.  Academic study time is built into the daily program, allowing students to maintain the highest level of academic achievement, as well as ballet training.  Each Trainee will also receive career counseling and help with their resume and portfolio.  Please call the School Director for more information if you are interested in the Trainee Program.

Creative Movement 2 (Ages 3 - 4) & Creative Movement 1 (Ages 4 - 5)

Class Profile: This class promotes early childhood development, proper body awareness and self expression through creative movement.  Children learn to develop coordination, balance, flexibility and rhythm. In CM1, children learn and master skips, gallops, marching and waltz steps.

Class Profile: This class builds upon the Creative Movement 1 class and introduces the ballet barre to build proper alignment and posture. Students develop increased flexibility and balance as well as broaden their ballet vocabulary. Greater focus and attention is also developed.

Class Profile: This class offers beginning level ballet technique. Classes are structured in the traditional ballet format, beginning with barre work and moving into center work. All basic positions are learned and the ballet vocabulary is expanded.

Boys Program

Class Profile: The boys program is offered to any boy who would like to attend boys only classes.  These classes are taught by either of our male Master Teachers: Mr. Bykov or Mr. Petrutiu.  The classes are geared towards developing and mastering the specific skills necessary for male dancers.  The classes are offered FREE of charge to any boys enrolled in at least one other Academy class.  Please call the Academy for more information or to enroll.
