Audition Fee: $25 (Accepted by Debit/Credit, Cash, or Check payable to CFB) Geared for the pre-professional dance student. This two to five week program provides Russian based classical ballet training with classes in complemetary dance styles. A final performance concludes the program. |
The Central Florida Ballet Summer Intensive is a formal program offering professional ballet training in the Russian Method as well as a variety of other dance styles. The program is designed to both challenge and encourage young dance students. The Summer Program offers intensive study in: Ballet | Pointe | Variations | Modern | Jazz | Character Instruction in Pilates, character, lyrical, hip-hop, and musical theatre is also offered. Workshops in choreography and acting for dancers are given along with seminars in dance history, music theory, injury prevention, and nutrition. Classes are held in Central Florida Ballet’s studios, which are equipped with sprung flooring. Students are placed in ballet groups by age and ability. Depending on their level, students can expect 3 to 7 hours of dance each day (except weekends). A Student Demonstration will be given at the end of the session for all students participating in the final three weeks. Company Members of Central Florida Ballet Lunch Program Central Florida Ballet offers a Lunch Program for all SIDP Students. Any student may purchase a lunch from the customized SIDP menu which offers a variety of healthy options each day. Lunch is delivered directly to CFB Studios. Pre-Order is required. Payment & Scholarships Tuition rates for 2013 Summer Program A non – refundable deposit is required within 2 weeks of the Acceptance Letter. No registration will be accepted without the deposit. Work-study scholarships are available to enrolled dancers 18 years of age and older. Work-study students serve as class assistants, outing & event chaperones, and office assistants. A limited number of partial scholarships are available to students based on a combination of merit and need. Location & Housing Central Florida Ballet is located just minutes away from Central Florida's famous attractions including Universal Studios, SeaWorld, Cirque Du Soleil, and Disney World. You can now spend your summer studying ballet in the United States' number one tourist destination and with some of the artists who make 'Magic' in our world-famous entertainment venues. A room and board arrangement may be available with a local host family whose child also attends the Central Florida Ballet Summer Intensive. Outings & Events Weekend activities may include trips to the beach, Universal Studios, Arabian Nights, Sea World, water parks, shopping, and more. |
