2009 Summer Intensive Dance Program

Session 1: July 06 – July 25, 2009

Session 2: July 27 – August 15, 2009

Central Florida Ballet offers professional ballet training in Russian Method and its program is designed to both challenge and encourage young dance students. Classes are held in the Central Florida Ballet’s studios, equipped with sprung flooring.  Dancers train and rehearse from five to seven hours daily (based on levels), from Monday to Friday.

Central Florida Ballet is located in Orlando, Florida, just minutes away from Central Florida’s famous attractions including Universal Studios, Seaworld, Cirque Du Soleil, and Disney World.  You can now spend your summer studying ballet in the United States’ number one tourist destination with some of the best master teachers in the world among artists who make ‘Magic’ in our world-famous entertainment venues. Orlando is one of the fastest growing arts communities in the nation.  Join us and enjoy the welcoming Southern hospitality which draws thousands of visitors from all over the world. 

Our summer program offers intensive study in ballet, pointe, modern, jazz and partnering. Instruction in Pilates, character, hip-hop, and musical theatre is also offered among seminars in choreography and acting for dancers along with studies in dance-related topics including dance history, music theory, injury prevention and nutrition. Classes – from beginning to professional levels – are taught by teachers from all areas of the professional dance world including ballet, Broadway, and theme park entertainment.

 Video/DVD auditions are accepted with a fee of $25.

Video (maximum of ten minutes) should include work at the barre: plié, tendu, adagio, and grand battement and in the center: adagio, pirouette, petit allegro and grand allegro. Women: please include pointe work only ifyou have had at least one year on pointe.

 All Levels include: Classes Monday – Friday from 9 am – 5 pm

(Some Saturdays from 10 am – 2 pm may apply)

Central Florida Ballet’s mission is simple:  “SERVICE THROUGH DANCE.”  Central Florida Ballet strives to provide quality dance performances to individuals of all ages and to use dance to reach out to the community through its dance therapy programs, participation in area events and special performances for small groups.  Whether a professional or student dancer in one of the performances, a member of the audience, or a participant in one of our outreach programs, the benefits are one and the same – to be culturally enriched through the universal art from of dance.

Mini Summer Dance Camp

Ages: 3 – 6 years old

June 15 – 26, 2009

What do you do at camp?

The Mini Summer Dance Camp is packed with exciting activities. Students will enjoy a variety of classes including ballet, jazz, music, art, drama, theater and more!

 What is the dress code?

Female students should wear pink tights and a pink leotard. Pink leather ballet shoes can be worn for most classes. Hair should be pulled up and off the face – either in a bun or pony tail. Male students should wear black shorts, white t-shirt, and white socks. White leather ballet shoes can be worn for most classes.

 What do you bring?

  1. Dance clothes
  2. Dance shoes
  3. Snack (something healthy!)
  4. Anything the teachers ask to bring for a specific class.
  5. Listening ears and quiet lips.
  6. Your smile!

 Dance Camp Schedule:
Days: Monday – Friday

Hours: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm or 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm

11:45 – 12:00

 *Students not picked up by 3:15 pm will be charged a

sitting fee of $10 for every 15 minutes after 3:30 pm.

Tuition:

One Week: $115

Two Weeks: $210

Enroll 2 or more children and receive the “family discount” of 10% off total tuition.
